WORSHIP NOTE Today we begin our symbolic countdown to Easter and the Journey to Jerusalem that is Lent. The three Sundays of pre-Lent preceding Ash Wednesday which falls in March 2 are entitled Septuagesima, Sexagesima, and Quinquagesima. In this way the Church seeks to help us to prepare for the Great Fast, which in turn prepares us to enter into once again the mystery of our salvation that is our union with Jesus in His death and Resurrection. “If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure we will also reign with Him.” (2 Timothy 2.11, 12a)

There will be a Candlemas Service with blessing of candles on Wednesday, February 2^nd at 7 pm. Organized by St. Cuthbert Archdeaconry, it is being live-streamed and all are invited to join online. Vestry Meeting by zoom Tuesday, January 25, 2022

Updates for the congregation

1. Rev. Paula and the Wardens provided an update to vestry of events over the past month or so.
2. The YouTube live streaming of services will continue as long as we are not having in person services.
3. The congregational AGM will be held by zoom on Sunday, February 13, 2022.  A zoom link will be provided soon.  Please put this date on your calendar.  It is important that we have enough people attending to reach a quorum. Please send in any reports to the church office so Yvonne can get us organized for the meeting. 
   • The final year end financial statements will be ready for the AGM.
   • We want the congregation to be aware ahead of time that the projected budget for 2022 will have a deficit of about $8,000.
4. We are asking the congregation to be thinking about stewardship, fundraising and budget considerations so that together we can do effective planning going forward.  We will be looking for volunteers for a fundraising committee.

THANK YOU our mitten tree got over 151 items. Thanks to everyone who donated. The scarfs, mittens, gloves and toques were delivered to Souls Harbour. Thank you to Norma and Sharon for taking care of this beautiful ministry.

ANNUAL MEETING will be held on Feb. 13, 2022 following the service. We will meet on ZOOM and detail will be sent closer to the date.  Please send in any reports to the church office so Yvonne can get us organized for the meeting.
