Congratulations and Blessings to Mervyn on the occasion of the celebration of his 80^th birthday! Birthday cake and refreshments will be served in the parish hall following the services.

Blessing and Prayers for Clara and her children, Myka, Eli, and Luci who will be leaving Regina this Friday to begin an 8 month educational tour of Central America.

PARISH LIFE NOTES

Bishop’s Celebration Event scheduled for this Sunday at St. Paul’s has been cancelled due to the period of mourning for Her Majesty the Queen.

Workbook of Living Prayer. Journey into the adventure of prayer! This six-week course, beginning the week of September 11, offers teaching and strategies for reflection on the nature of prayer. Meet once a week with others to talk about what you discover about God, yourself, and your relationship with the Holy Trinity. Speak to Lorna or Beth for details. Workbooks are available in the church office and cost $11.

Parish Family Meeting will take place after worship on Sunday, September 18^th. Please mark your calendars and make every effort to attend for a presentation from the Vestry in regard to the financial challenges facing our parish.

Our 83^rd Diocesan Synod is on October 14-16, 2022, at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Regina. Regina folks, are you able to billet a fellow Anglican who lives out of Regina for one or both of these nights? If so, please contact Kate and we will connect you with someone. Thank you!

Parish Garden Harvest. The potatoes from St. Mary’s Garden were harvested this week and delivered to the Community Fridge. Thanks be to God!

A BIG THANK YOU to the St. Mary’s crew, that included Shelley, Lorna , Andrew, Sandra, Katherine, Shirley, Janice, Lyndon, Art, Norma and Bill, Mary, and Hilary, who organized, shopped, cooked, set and cleaned up at our Lessons from the Egyptian Desert Evening on Wednesday night attended by over 50 adults, youth, children, and babies! PARISH LIFE NOTES

The Bell of St. Mary’s. Our thanks to Mike (and his truck) who on Thursday helped deliver the church bell, formerly of St. Phillip’s, Regina and St. George’s, Pilot Butte, now entrusted to St. Mary’s! Cry aloud, inhabitants of Zion, ring out your joy, for the great one in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel. ( Isaiah 12.6).

Gospel in the Garden for children begins to today during the 10.30 service. Our theme is “The Seven Days of Creation” and will include Scripture, Reflection, Song, Prayer, Watering and Weeding the Garden, and Side-Walk Chalk Mural designed by St. Mary’s Junior “Artist-in-Residence” Lucy.

Summer Offerings. During the summer holidays when many Parishioners are away and out of town, our weekly collections often decrease by a considerable amount, but the costs of running our parish stays the same. Before you go away on holidays this summer, please consider signing up for electronic giving. Electronic giving provides a convenient option for you and supports consistent giving to the parish for all the work it does. If you are already an electronic giver, we thank you. If not, we graciously ask that you consider this option. Forms are available at the back of the church by the collection plate. Forms can also be requested by emailing stmarysanglican@sasktel.net.
